These past few weeks, I lacked inspiration for anime-related posts, which are by far the most frequented category here. And for a few days now, as I have much more stress on my shoulders than I usually do, I have had little inspiration for new posts overall.
So, if you have any ideas for new posts or projects that could serve as content for this blog, please write them as comments to this post.
With the beginning of the university session, I have little time to write on this blog. Regardless, here is a small update, constituting in some of the finest – in my humble opinion – artwork that rests on my hard drives. And of some random thoughts.
I have been saving AMVs that I particularly enjoyed for some time now. However, looking back at most of them, only a few still appear as good as they did when I first watched them… Here they are, embedded and commented for your convenience.
The following post is the result of over a year of thinking, writing and discussing with several philosophy professors on the topic of truth. Is truth relative? And consequently, is relativity itself relative? This is an abstract of my thoughts on the matter.
The expression “Meta-Story” means, literally, a “story about a story”, and is usually used to refer to the events that happen beyond what is explicitly written. I use the term to refer to the process of creating a narrative text; and therefore the story of a story. Blame the rather strong poetic side of my mind.
I am usually not a big fan of shounen-oriented franchises, and rather tend to be biased towards seinen or seinen-derived titles: most of favourites belong to this category. I especially despise what is usually refered to as “mainstream shounen” anime; which includes the likes of Naruto and One Piece.
As a follow-up to my original impressions, here is my review of the anime currently airing in Japan that begun in the Spring or Summer of this year.
I will categorize the titles according to how much they lived up to my expectations. Thus, the order does not necessarily reflect my overall enjoyment of the shows.
This near-poem was written between last Summer and August 25th of this year. The original concept stemmed from a warm Summer night at the family cottage. Most of the final revisions were done at Montreal’s Botanical Garden, which confered the necessary inspiration to me. It was originally designed to be the ending of a – sad – short story, that was later abandoned.
I consider it to be the most depressing piece of text I ever wrote…
Although I usually prefer conventional eromangas over doujinshi, several doujins deserve to be mentioned in any attempt to name my personal favourites. Thus, here is a list of my ten favourite doujin. Note that I was careful to pick only one doujins per artists, and to include as wide an array of styles as possible.
